Vision Impairment Simulator

“So, what do you really see?” or “How does the world look to you?”

These are questions frequently asked of individuals living with vision impairments. To help answer this, we’ve developed the GDABVI Vision Impairment Simulator.

Start by selecting your scene below from the first dropdown, and then a vision impairment from the second dropdown to see how those with that visual impairment are affected.

The Vision Simulator illustrates a variety of common visual impairments, such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and cataracts. Experience the world from a different perspective as you observe faces, street signs, scenic views, and other images through these lenses.

While the simulator cannot perfectly replicate what your loved one sees, it offers a starting point for building greater awareness, compassion, and understanding. In essence, it helps you see the world as they might.
